A briefintroduction to the basic functions of the operation menu:

1. Separate Page:

When the page data stored in a physical image is notcontiguous, correction is required. For example, in the left image below: page0in block0is followed by page2 instead of page1. Thisindicates that the pages in the image are not stored contiguously and need tobe separated first. One image is split into two images, and contiguous pagesare stored at the same offset position in both images before proceeding to thenext step.

2. Separate the dump

Separate n mirrors into more mirrors. Separating mirrors is similar tooperation (3). When data is not stored contiguously, the span of the datadetermines which separation method is more appropriate. The left middle of thefigure below shows that pages 0, 2, 4, 6 in block 0 and pages 1, 3, 5, 7 inblock 512 need to be separated and combined to form contiguous page data.

4. Combine bytes

The following diagram (left) illustrates the bytecombination operation on N images: When reading more than one physical image,byte alternation may occur, which is one of the strategies that differentmanufacturers' controllers may employ. The original correct data in the logicalimage, which is stored consecutively as bytes: 123456789A, will be written tothe two physical images separately. Physical image 1 writes: 13579; Physicalimage 2 writes: 2468A. When the data bytes in the physical images are notconsecutive, byte combination is required for correction.

Merging n images into one image. Regardless of the number of physicalimages, only one logical image can be formed in the end, so a merging operationis necessary. Merging images involves placing the second image at the end ofthe first image.
